install Windows 7 on an external hard drive
This is how I see the request on the forum and in my opinion, it makes little sense, given the slow rate of a USB device, tied to a hard disk this type.
install Windows 7 on a PC using only the hard disk, even if this type of drive is recognized by the system setup, in fact, a message appears di errore che ne impedisce l’utilizzo.
1. Create two new folders in C: and rename files in Windows and WAIK Files
2. Download this zip file and extract all the content in WAIK Files
WAIK
3. Mount the ISO image of Windows Automated Installation Kit and install it on your PC by starting StartCD.exe and following the wizard
4. Search Bcdboot.exe files, and Bootsect.exe Imagex.exe (that contained in the X86 folder) in C: folder and copy files WAIK
5. Mount the ISO image of the disk and copy of Windows 7 the entire contents in the Windows Files
6. Go WAIK Files folder and open the file installer.bat as administrator, right click etc..
7. Press the Enter key and select the file from the Windows Files install.wim / Sources
8. Indicate the version of Windows 7 to install external hard disk, by typing the number (a list appears with all available versions and their numbers), and press Enter;
9. Type the drive letter on external hard disk to install Windows 7 (ie L) and press Enter;
10. Type the letter of the active partition (should be C:, however, can occur diskmgmt.msc access the utility from the Start menu) and press Enter;
11. Type Y to instruct the software you want to install Windows 7 on an external drive and press Enter;
12. Press the Enter key and wait for the extraction of install.wim. After the procedure, you are prompted to restart your PC;
13. Follow the installation process of Windows 7
The procedure was tested with a 32-bit version.
